Join our team of Language Analysts
Verified’s methodology relies on the unique competence of native speakers (language analysts) in order to analyse over 90 language-country combinations and counting.
We are looking for candidates who meet the following general criteria:
- ability to identify different dialects of their own native tongue(s);
- good knowledge and experience of the social, political and cultural life in their home country;
- good oral and written communication skills in Swedish or English;
- computer skills.
Interpreting experience is often useful. We value punctuality, good organisation skills, critical thinking, inquisitiveness and reliability.
This is a consultant position, which may mean a varying work schedule and uneven workload.
Join our team as a Linguist
However, native-speaker analysts constitute only one part of the tandem, as their skills are complemented by the expertise of qualified linguists. If you hold a degree in linguistics with a specialisation in phonology, dialectology, sociolinguistics, or forensics and possess a forensic mindset, you may be what we are looking for. We offer the opportunity to prove your ability and willingness to develop your forensic skills and sharpen them with particular regard to our specific domain. A linguist’s work is dynamic, with constant new challenges and questions to elucidate, which is why experience in and a passion for research, alongside an aspiration for rigour and accuracy are key. Last, but not least, a linguist’s work cannot be carried out alone, which is why being a team player able and willing to listen and collaborate, as well as learn from others rounds off the profile we are after.
